A few hours ago I opened an MPC2000XL and was looking at the parts on the main board.
I noticed an eprom socket and a table saying: 1-2 Flash Boot, 2-3 Eprom boot.
There was some jumpers right next to the socket and it was set to 1-2.

Doesnt make any difference if anybody knows anyting or not about this, but im just curious:
What was the eprom socket made there for? Some OS upgrade via eprom chips maybe?

I dont know either but do you have the flash board installed? It would sound a bit stange to me if you dont cause the jumper is set to it.

maybe the word "boot" in that context mean the kernal boot (just like a pc got its BIOS) of the MPC and not the OS.

EDIT: Did you saw this?

Is this a potential route into a 2000 series hack?
