JJOS - Need some straight advice

Okay, I'm getting my 2500 soon and I really need some advice on the operating system dilemma. Please, none of that "Akai OS is lame" or "JJOS kicks Akai's ass". I'm just trying to get some mature opinions.

Questions:
1) Is JJOS technically any weaker than Akai in any way? I mean, it is written by a non-Akai source, so does it have any reoccurring bugs or tech. issues due to the fact that a personal user wrote this program?

2) What would you consider the biggest advantage of JJOS, specifically?

I'm sorry for bringing this topic up again. Forgive me, but for some reason I'm hesitant about putting outside operating systems on my MPC. Thanks again for your time and advice!

1: the person that coded jjos is akai staff. with great knowlege of the hardware. so less bugs than the akai os because hes a better coder than they are. now like with all new system software. the new version always has some bugs. but thats true with the akai os too. and the older versions of jjos are rock solid.


2. the best features are mainly just a rock solid os with a good workflow. there are many feature adds over the stock os. and for that you can look at the jj site for the comparison chart. it lays out everything logically to see the diferences in os features.

Is this not contradictory?

My point is that the best thing about JJ OS is the workflow. You can do same things in half (or more) the time it takes with Akai's OS. (name editing, program making, chop shop...)

Akai OS for the MPC1000 was UNFINSHED. JJ took it upon himself to correct the outstanding bugs, and while at it, implement many of the features found only in the MPC 4000! Like multitrack recording\mixing, super easy workflow, improved timing and sync options, Arpeggio, Chord, compatability with the pad upgrade kits (for 1000), and so many 'minor' feature upgrades that it really is an entire different system, even the text is different in the display screen. Think of Akai Os as a 4 cylinder Kia Sephia, and JJ OSXL is a Supercharged Hemi.
