Volume control of assignable outs

Its only just occured to me as I don't usually utilise them, but:

If I use any of the outs apart from the main ones, the volume knob doesn't work. It doesn't even say override whats coming from the outs, to act as a volume limiter. Is that not a bit daft? Its a pain to have to go to the mixer.

Why wouldnt the MAIN VOLUME knob not only affect the MAIN OUTPUTS......

this is a 2500 and osxl 1.15 by the way. is this how it should work?

this is pretty much how all gear with assignable outs works. Main out is main volume. Everything else is independant.

i'm not sure how that work in reality with the mpc though. for the out i was using (running into the efx of a synth), the output level was set to 100 in the mixer - ie, was at its max. the signal going to my synth wasn't anywhere near what it would be if i had the stereo outs leading to it with the volume knob cranked to the max. so the assignable outs don't have the same properties as the main outs. is that standard?

>> The output volume of the assignable outs is effected by the Output Volume in the MPC Settings (MODE >> Other, I guess) as well as the Output Level in the GPE. I wasn't using assignable outs either until just recently, when I found out all about that.
Setting the Master Volume to -6 dB works fine for me.
