MPC 60 & SCSI Drive

Hello people,
I am hooking up this days SCSI adapter to my 60;
I am planing to transfer sound edited files from PC to 60 via Awave studio.
What SCSI drive (CF Card reader, ZIP, HDD) solution is practically the best to use with 60?

i dont know much about transferring data to the mpc. i just sample my sounds in. but what i CAN tell you is that a solid state solution would be the best choice. that would include removable media like card readers and fixed media like solid state hard drives like the ones scsiforsamplers sells. i wouldnt go with a zip drive as your main storage solution and stay far away from syquest stuff. i had good experiences with syquest at one point but lately it's been bad. no moving parts=great thing. hit up scsiforsamplers. his products are excellent and he'll walk you through spec and tech support

I would go with a CF Card Reader. I have an external one and I'm very happy with it.

I can still use my floppy. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I would not transfer sounds to the 60 via PC. Its so easy to sample on it. (This is the 2nd reason of owning a 60)
I just take a day off of making beats to build a nice library.
You'll be surprised how much you can sample in a few hours.

Thanks people, yes I love sampling with 60, but first I like to do some sound surgery in PC, that's my master plan.

Can you recomend me some specific internal CF Card models?

The MPC60 is compatible with these card readers: Spyrus RD300 (both models), Spyrus RD400, Microtech PCD-15B, Microtech PCD-25B, Adtron SDDS, SCSIforSamplers CF-CARD. Those are the only ones I know of that are compatible.

so do the surgery first, then go back into the mpc. thats what i do. i use a software waveform editor, then sample into the mpc. transferring data back and forth is gonna be a pain

I use sound forge, audacity or Recycle on a laptop. Get them chops tight and Sample from the laptop straight to the 60.

hey, and your prices seem reasonable too... even for things like that long midi cable etc...

I think the idea of an external rack mount setup with the several drives and drive types is a neat idea. I am considering building one some time.
