I've been thinking about swapping out my ancient azz 40Gb HD in my MV for a SATA drive.
Have you noticed any speed differences with the swap? Loading? Saving?
It's within my budget and should be easy to do. Thanks for the links!

my optical drive is not working.
I did not thoroughly test it.

I've got a 120Gb 7200 RPM SATA drive for $44 I'm watching on eBay.
I might just go ahead and buy it since I could always use it as a faster back up HD for my Mac.

you have to make the optical drive the slave.


the adapter piece does not have jumpers on it, so it is default set to master

3 little peices of velcro,
but you can buy an adapter carriage somewhere.


industrial strength velcro works fine for me.

I did it for noise, pluss I wanted a new hard drive. my unit still had the desk star in it.



I got sick of always having to manually spin down the hard drive.
So, why not just put a silent drive in it.


now I need to get a quiet fan.
