Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

Nice quality samples , but when i load into my MPC500 ( especially the Concert Grand Piano on bank pad B ) they sound out of tune.
Can't make out if its the source samples or the pitch increments in the pgm file for each pad.
Also tried playing via external midi device with same tuning issue
Dang, as the Rhodes pianos, strings and brass ensemble are the ones that i could use.

there's only so much you can do with 11 samples across all those keys. could try changing the tune a bit, they're tuned in the same manner a regular piano is tuned. 1/4 meantone.

Chart is listed in number of cents away from other keys.

Hi ,
Just got a 2nd opinion on the tuning , and according to my music teacher buddy , the audio samples also should be incremented by 3hz for each octave.
He teaches music technology in the UK and part of the course is sampling , and he uses this 3hz increment as an example to teach students sampling techniques using Akai S samplers.
He is going to correct the concert grand, electric piano and strings ( he also used to be a piano tuner) , and I will upload them.

Cheers

This is a superb effort.

Will keep me (and I suspect a few others) busy for a while.

cheers for that.
