I have two synths , both are connected to my mpc through midi in ,
I have set one synth to midi channel 1 and the other to midi channel 2.
When i record a sequence from my first synth onto midi channel 1A everything is ok,
then when i record the sequence from the second synth on to channel 2B the mpc records all the data sent from the first synth as well.
Do I have to change the "active track receive channel" each time i want to record from a different synth ?
or is there another way round this ?

no, i don't think this is possible, even with jjos. it used to be on my 2000xl though, which is disappointing

i see you are also from glasgow - what sort of music are you making?

Good question, I should be making techno, but all I seem to do is make loops in my mpc and never see them again.
For the last few months I have been learning to play scales on the keyboard and totally forgetting about programming , so I might actually make a track one day.

Okay. I've been doing a lot of sampling sith my 2500 since I got it (about 2 weeks ago). I'm also coming from a 2000XL. Are you saying that you can't run two outboard sound devices simultaneously on the 2500? I can't see this being true. I'm going to have to connect both my microKorg and Reason and see if this is true. But if you read this before I get a chance to do this, feel free to comment.

yeah, you can run as many as you want - you just can't record from multiple midi sources at once

I thought you guys were saying that I couldn't connect multiple devices and have them triggered simultaneously.

But if you're using the MPC as your master sequencer, why would you be recording from multiple sources at once? I don't remember the 2000XL being able to do that either though.
