hi,

I just got my mpc2000XL with built in 100MB zipdrive(the blue model). Now heres my question what type of zip drive should i buy for my computer? Will anyone work? Basically i need one zip drive on my computer to transfer my samples/wav files onto a zip disk from my computer. So that then i can simply take the zip disk and put it in my mpc and load the samples. Ive heard of some people saying that there mpc wont read zips from there computer and vice versa. So i want to make sure that i get the right brand of zip drive and zip disc so that i can directly write the wav's from my computer to a zip disc an dthen just load the same disc into my mpc. Anyone who has a zip drive that works with there mpc please tell me what brand..etc it is
Thanks!

i dont think anybody but iomega makes zip drives so you cant go wrong with the brand. if you search the forums you'll find that the problems stem from operating systems etc. people say windows xp corrupts mpc files. other people say you have to format your zips in the pc using fat32 & a lot of other stuff. different people have different problems but most everyone will tell you to use one seperate disc to transfer files.

i have xp & about the only issue i have is that if my files have underscores/blank spaces in the names then xp will rename them totally.

I'm not sure if Iomega still make 100mb zip drives but if you get a new 250mb USB one it should read 100mb disks. The 100mb drive won't read 250 disks so stick to buying 100mb disks.

Having one disk you use to transfer between machines is a good idea.

I use a Mac & the rule with those is: format the disk on the MPC but don't put any partitions on it. If you do, the Mac only sees the first partition. I think this is the case with PCs too.
