Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Alright guys I'm having trouble with the 2000...i got my beat layed down and i want to add a sample to one sequence...i got the sample on a floppy and when i load it into the mpc and assign it to a pad the sample plays with the sequence...i mind you i just added the sample into the mpc...then to troubleshoot i dont even add it to the pad i just leave it in the programs...then as soon as i add it to a pad the sample plays and i havent even recorded it with a sequence...it even adds itself to every sequence...and to some that may not be a problem...because the wierd thing is the sample plays on beat...now as i said to some it may not be a problem but i need to have the sound on just 1 or 2 sequences and it needs to be on an individual track due to the fact i midi sync it up with my audio interface...so it needs to be on 1 or 2 sequences and just 1 track...excuse me if i wrote too much but i felt like i needed to a specific as possible...Thanks for the help in advance

Maybe the pad you assigned it to has some variable on it, like play simultaneous note, or more likely a different pad in your program has that assigned to it. Check all the pad assignment specs, could be that. Also you could try turning the sound to note off instead of mono or poly in the params menu.

Once u sequence a sample pad DONT change the sample in it.

If you want to use another sample, use a different pad.
