Would my MPC2kXL fit in a turntable flight case? Namely this one:

The dimensions for the MPC and for the case are given differently (that is to say the MPC dim. is given in mm and the case in inches......) And i'm too damn lazy to do math right now.

Help is appreciated.

Also, let me know if you have to add/take out foam, cut shit or whatever. Thanks.

My MPC (2000xl) is slightlay smaller then my turntables in width and depth, but in height the turntable is a lot taller, so you'd need to pack in some foam.

BTW, they do make transport cases specifically for the MPCs

I use a padded bag to carry around my mpc. It's very similar to the bag that AKAI sells but is made by Mackie for their 1604vlz mixer. I really like this bag cause it fits all my cables, zipdrive, disks and oxygen8 keyboard (or) extra sound mod all in one bag.

Could you share a model number, where these cases for MPC can be found, or any info whatsoever about cases specifically for the mpc2000xl? I have been looking for a quality hard case for about 8 months now. Thanks.

I got a hard case for my MPC made by 'Road Ready Cases'. I'm pretty sure the model number is RRDRC (Digital Recording Studio Utility Case).
It's the kind of case that has the wall to wall foam that is scored into cubes so you can just cut or peel out a hole the exact size of your equipment (aka Pick & Fit foam). My MPC fits SNUG in there with no extra room to bounce around. It cost me $129.99 at Guitar Center....and they come with a lifetime warranty against defects.

PS-At the store I saw the same case with two different handles. One was a heavy-duty spring-loaded recessed metal/plastic handle (the one I bought).
The other was a flimsy looking plastic briefcase-type handle. I bet they stopped making the briefcase one because they broke to easily. Be sure and get the sturdy one.

Thanks itchyvinyl. That is a big help. Is the case metal/ heavy duty enough for plane trips, etc? I have seen the black or tan models with just the metal on the corners on eBay and at guitar center and they aren't very tough.

I also have the " Road Ready " case. My case is silver in colr and i picked it up at Guitar Center for $60 when I bought my MPC. They gave me a slight hook up because of the amount of $ I spent. THere is definitely enough padding for the MPC and , in fact , I could even fit my DPS 12 in it. For the money , I highly recommend this case.
