Okay the service manual just says 240 x 64 dot graphic lcd w/back light. I guess this is the part # : IND LCD PS24064LRU - ETA - H03

I found a bunch of 240x64 lcd screens, all cheap (between $12 and $64) but I don't know about how they hook up.

Does anyone know: Do different LCD screens attach differently?

the other case is the cd-m25 the cd/dvd recorder for mpc2500 (i dont have a mpc2500) so I can't see how it is the connectors of this piece but I you have one of them please take a pic from every side of yours and show me... I can tell you what kind of laptop cd/dvd burner can be compatible with your mpc2500 and you probably just need to spend not more than 40 bucks on ebay...

I'm systems engineer and I work with a lot of computers... I was looking one of my laptops and the shape of my cd/dvd burner Is just like the cd-m25 but how I dont have the mpc2500 and I cant find any pic from the connectors of the cd-m25 I cant tell you now if the model of my cd/dvd burner can be compatible with yours...

The point is... Akai don't make his own parts... so they need to buy those parts from manufactures and If we can figure out what kind of parts you are using on your mpc, you can easily find the standard part on internet and of course... cheaper!

ya know come to think of it.. if someone is brave enough to remove like 4-6 screws and slide out their cdr/dvd from their 2500 or 5000 and post all of the model numbers and any other text on stickers, etc etc.. we could probably figure out exactly who manufactures the drive and then find em with ease and for a fraction of the price.

we all know akai ain't making this stuff.

sample directly from disc, load bulk sounds off of cd/dvd, burn to cd, etc.
i personally have not tried burning yet but I would presume 2 track audio or data would work fine..

lastly, you get to say you have a "fully blown out" mpc..

Hey just to let everyone know.. I bought this Hard Drive from Memphlow and it works like a champ..
So Im just leaving some positive feedback for him.. He also sent me 5 free 64MB CF cards. Which since they are small are perfect for storing OS.bin files and Splash screens for JJos! perfect.

Thanks Memphlow!
