Mann, some dope looking mpc's in here good work fellas. Mine is going to be a few more weeks (waiting on black pads delivery)

thought yall might be interested. I dyed my buttons black for free, they came out with a light matt black color, looks pretty sweet. It only took about an hour all up and it cost me $10aud for dye.

If your interested check out google for pages on dying r/c car parts. The only part that wouldnt dye was the silver job wheel. I pre soaked the buttons in the dye while i got the dye/water mix boiling lightely then soaked the buttons for 5 minutes (too long and they can melt or warp, 5 mins is fine though) take em out rinse and dry. If there too light or any problems, can just keep dying them darker.

ps: a mate was telling me in these screens if you flip the polarisation (polarization) layer the screen colours will reverse, does anyone know anything about this ? Black background screen with green txt would be pretty sweeeet.

you ex.. did you ever figure out how to remove the memory card slot frame like you were talking about a couple pages back?

I got mine off no problem.. it is tight tho.. its not as much about being careful as it is having the right tool for the job.

get a jewelers screwdriver set, and use the smallest flat head in there.. take off you front panel obviously and look at the back of the memory card slot frame.. there are four little arrow tabs/hooks that hold it in place(similar to the hook feet on all the buttons)
just carefully pry each of the four hooks/clips away from the frame edge and it will pop right out. and voila!
mine was really stiff in there so I know aht you mean about being worried bout it bustin or sumtin

ps. sent u a pm on some other ish..

and Im definitely getting on board with the customizations going on here.

h and while im thinking about it.. I have noticed how green everyones stock LCDs look in camera shots..
but Im wondering, do the look more Yellowish green in person? cause my joint looks more yellow than green to me and its Bone stock.
just wondering.

PEACE

I've directly ripped off this idea and although I'm not proud of it, my box does look hella fresh. Nerdy props to ya.

No doubt, the Lord Vader 2500 theme is fresh. I just wish Akai still made black buttons so I could do mine up.

No problem yo.. its a piece of cake really..
I can't wait to see how that little detail spices your joint up even more.. even if it is ever so subtle.

Looking for the black under-screen-area and back-panel if anyone has extras. Will trade my white case or some bills. Challah.

And things seem to be back on track! I've purchased a 1000 this time around. Won it off ebay. Guess I'll have it in a few days. YAY!

Adios MPC 2500 forum... hello MPC 1000 forum. I'll still be coming back to check out the custom jobs every once in a while. This is a very entertaining thread.

EducatedHands, that custom job is the hotness.
