CF speed limitation due to MPC itself ?

Hello,

I have a CF Sandisk 1GB Ultra II.
It is *much faster* with my USB card reader than when I "LOAD" with MPC.

Does this mean that the MPC itself has a speed limitation that makes that
having a Sandisk III Extreme or Ultra II won't change anything ??

(I want to upgrade to 8 GB and wanted to know if Sandisk II or III will change
something or not).

Is the speed of Compact Flash card really important ??
Even with a slow CF card (10 Mb/ sec), it takes only (theoritically) only 13 seconds to
fill the 128MB of the RAM...

So why is the speed of CF important ?

I would like to have you advice before buying one !
