Hello, I just bought the HD kit : Akai-HDM10 and I installed
a Toshiba MK4025 GAS (40 Go) but it doesn't work : it hangs on
the flash screen of OS JJ ...

And the hard disk doesn't start...

Any help ?

By the way, do the "MPC big users" (hi "Nym", hi "rich_biatch"...)
here use Hard disks ? or Big compact flash cards ?

Thanx in advance

I would suggest....Disconnecting hard drive. Loading Original Akai OS back on. Then Format the hard drive from the Akai OS. Then load JJOS.

The hard drive is failing !

I will return the AKAI HDM-10 to the shop and buy a 16GB CF instead !
What do you think of the HAMA High speed CF 16GB (200x) ?

Do you usually prefer CF or HD ?

it sounds to me like you gave up too quick. i've been using a hard drive with JJ OS 1, 2, and 2XL for over a year now with no problems at all. the problem could be the hard drive, the interface, something else inside your MPC, or a formatting problem.

the important thing to remember is whether you use a hard drive of flash card... ALWAYS FORMAT IT FROM WITHIN JJ OS BEFORE YOU USE IT!

this will save you a bunch of problems down the road.

My Thoughts exactly. You have to always back up your work also.
I keep a current copy of my Whole HD.

OP, you wanted to use that CF from the giddy up. lol
Check out that CF Mod with that HDM-10 Posted in the 1k forum.

I use Both HD/CF also. Been using the same HD that came with my 2500 for almost 2 years now.
