Are you formatting the disks on a computer or on the MPC? You could try formatting it on a computer and then again in the MPC, i can't really think of what else you could easily do. Get new floppies and try them? I mean are the disks you're using new-ish or are they old as [beep]?
I would say the problem is most likely one of these things: bad floppy disks, messed up disk drive, bad connection from disk drive to MPC (easily fix-able if you're willing to open your MPC up, not too difficult just find a tutorial), or you may just need to format the disks differently somehow.
Try these things and what other people are recommending and tell us what happens. Also if you have the money i would highly suggest a card reader for your MPC, i used floppies for a while but flash cards are just so much more reliable and easy. And its not like floppies make your beats sound better, they're just appealing IMO because they're old and retro. But i got tired of the problems they cause and after about 8 months had to switch to a card reader. I would look into the them (the card readers), they're not too pricey and its like 2-4 gb vs 3mb. But i mean stick with what works for you.
