16 characters filename limit

Q: How many characters can a sample name contain?
A: 16 characters max, w/o the .wav suffix. EDIT: I just found out that, if you you copy samples on the HD, the files can be longer, as long as there are no dots (.) in the sample name and the no blanks ( ) in there. Blanks_have_to_be_replaced_by_underscores_like_in_this_example. Get a file renamer like this http://www.gene6.com/ to let it do the dirty work for you.
