I have been listening to celph titled's gatalog and noticed on some classical music samples he filters the sample like its a low pass but it sound almost like a wah wah pedal. I have also heard Kev brown and Kno use this same effect and know both rock a XL. Im sure its something in the para screen, do any of you know this trick ?.

Thats what i was thinking but i doubt its just a coincidence that 2 or 3 producers create that same effect and all on the same MPC. The more i think about it the more i remeber ages ago reading a Kev Brown interview and he talking about him turning his XL into a wah wah pedal.

PS: Im not talking about that Divinci guy.

There are some crazy things u can do with the xl if you are imaginative, daring
and knowledgable enough to attempt it.

But just wondering about it gets u nowhere.

Maybe 1 producer came up with the technique and shared it out or something, maybe another well versed producer heard the effect and knew of ways to get that same thing going for them.

All the while, ur, still wondering.

Do you have an eb16 to try out at all? One of your friends mabye? Then you still gotta find a suitable sample to freak.

I haven't even heard the effect ur talking about but I have an eb16 and I've done some incredible stuff with it before imo, most peeps will say bah humbug but that little card is capable of more than most people think if you ask me, u didn't but I'm saying it anyway, lol..

Sounds like a sample with a low pass filter and LFO on it. He probably had the eb-16 like lamp said.

Im at work now but i will post a link to the track when i get home for everyone to hear. Yes i do have the EB16 and i have not messed around with the exact sample in question but i have tried a sample with similar audio qualities. I think your right people are just sharing the trick around the traps.

you don“t really need the effectboard.
set the filter to 20, hit the "open window" button and play with the attack and release of the filter. a long release and set the attack to 15/20. it depends on the sound.

i've got my mpc for almost 5 years and i just discovered this. i was looking for screens i've never seen. just try to "open window" on every function/setting.
