we aint seen them actually sample off a record but one vid so shows aja working with a sample. surely they would not call it a drum machine sampler if it could not sample.

but but from the advertised feature set it certainly does everything a an mpc1k or 2500 does

peeps are to attached to the mpc's yeah its dope but it aint only machine out there.

but i think the hardware is a must cop, the mpc1000 might have to get retired cos this **** can do everything and more.

but have to be said the beat making videos dont do the machine justice its like they got the quantise levels on to high **** just sounds stiff.

cuz the hardware don't come out till October lol.

I'm not that patient man! I gotta know now!

it can do the same 960ppq sequencer res as my 4000, that's what I'd be using it on, so I wouldn't worry about the stiffness, of the quantize lol...remember them southern boys love the quantize man!

No, someone has told you it will do everything and more. I think you should prepare yourself for disappointment when the thang doesn't turn out to be a patch on the 1k in the sampling department.

This thread has been rolling for 7 months and there is still zero evidence that this machine even samples! ???

I hear ya man, it's something the people want to see.

I don't think sampling will be a problem man, I don't see them calling it a sampler if it doesn't, and being producers I'm sure it's on point.

the 1000 is not all that dope of a sampler man, it's a basic sampler/sequencer it's nothing like the 4000

I don't expect this to top the 4k sampling capabilities but I expect it to at least match the others.

I'm wondering about timestretching and such inside it, wonder how that works.

I'm sure the got the "record a sample and chop it up" part,

but like you, we haven't seen it so at this point we are only guessing lol.

I'm getting it either way, and even as it stands now, I'd buy it over any mpc that's out.

real talk

Well, it's kinda stupid to make yet another sampler for a small market that is already filled up with Roland, Akai, Korg and Yamaha.

I definitely don't see this holding it's price point for very long,....a few months after it drops we will probably see $300 or so get shaved off the price.

yo dudes, can you send midi data through the usb? and are you guys going to release a manual soon?
By BEATKANGZ Mon Jul 27, 2009 5:53 am
Yes we have to send midi over USB so we can control the virtual....

We have a functional spec but no manual yet. The Funk spec as I call it is kinda geeky and is more nerd talk than a manual. Manual will probably come out early sept once we get the betas out.....

I think once people touch this thang they are gonna love it..... I can't put it down so far.

No more program files etc. It's easy to make a kit and the seq it and every thing is just right there..... Loading samples off my flash key is sick.... Boom has his samples on his key, I have mine and rev has his.... Boom walks up and plugs in his key and plays his joints and it reads direct from the key..... ALL THE STUFF HE MADE ON THE VIRTUAL.

The virtual ships on a 2gig key and you can save everything you make right to that.....
You don't have to but it makes it easy when I want to play something I made on someone elses virtual without having to give them my samples etc. Or I can just pop it in the Thang and all my stuff is there....

It's what making music SHOULD be...... FUN

I'm done with complex setups.... I just wanna make sick shit....

Yall better get the virtual now.... Its a secret weapon... Come august it won't be...

It's made to make hits.... Watch
