are ALL mpcs 110-240v???

Whats up..

I just bought my mpc from some cat who got it from Japan. Anyway the MPC i got sais this on the back:ac120v 60 hz~ 23w. Anyway im in Hong Kong now and here they use a European electric system(240v). I already plugged the mpc an dit worked fine..but im just worried im frying it...if the electricty was to strong would it have fried the mpc the first time? or could it be frying it little by little? let me know

I wouldn't worry about it getting fried that's just how their current is there.When you come back to the states you'll probably need some sort of adaptor if you're not using one there already.So,you should be straight.....Peace

nah what i mean is the MPC i have is 110v(for the states and Japan). anyway here in Hong Kong they use 240v. I looked on the back of my mpc and it doesnt say anything about 110~240v it jus says 110v~. I already turned it on an das far as i know it didnt fry anything. But im just worried that something might go wrong,.,,

mmmmm??? I hope you get some pro advice on this thread. I never remember the difference between voltage & current & wattage, but I don't think you will be doing any slow damage to it. However I do think you might find that one single time you plug it in & switch it on over there you might blow something.

I've just thought.....have you got a US published travel guide book to Hong Kong? It will probably have advice in there about using US rated equipment in Hong Kong & vice-versa, & will tell you what sort of adaptor you should use while you are over there.

true, check the travel guide. at walmart here there is the plug kit you can buy.

This is a strange one.
You must have a dual voltage MPC because you would have blown a fuse or even the transformer ($$$) on the inside of it as soon as you plugged it up. If it works fine, consider yourself lucky. I brought my MPC from the states and I need a step-down transformer box to plug into in order to operate it with the 240VAC they have here in England.

As for the frequency (50Hz -overseas ~ 60Hz - stateside), it shouldn't matter. Frequency only plays a big part if you use big electrical motors. Thats when you want your freq's to be spot on. Your disk drive motor will be fine.
