SP-404...

Pads were way too stiff, its bulky just didnt feel it.

Yamaha Su-700...

Chopping on it was a pain, it sounded really flat and the knobs were breaking.

MP60 MkII & Emu Esi...

didnt like the old screen fonts, i had 3.0 so i had to chop by 5sec patches, it was HUGE compare to other MPCs and it only had 1/4 of the power...

the Esi was a nice sampler it had good filters, but chopping and assigning midi with it was a real pain.

Yamaha Motif ES 6 . Not a bad machine by any means but I'm not a keys guy and was trying to make an attempt at it . I think I paid something like $1700 for it the month it came out and sold it about 3 months later for $700 cash . Just typing that hurt  .

I also got a Pioneer CDJ right before Serato dropped to cut up whatever I wanted and after I got Serato felt like a idiot . Made my money back on that one though .

Damn, I guess thats what happens when you cop the newest gear or dont do your research, lol... $1000 is a HUGE loss on a 3 month old keyboard.

Sorry, Steele, that shit hurts me to read.

Or when you just came up on a little under 6 figures and just got the Sweetwater catalog . I had a field day and didn't care about the loss then .

Whole different story now . We live and we learn (hopefully) .

^^Damn, I would have copped 1 of each mpc model, all the asr models and an sp1200 or 2. Oh and a custom moog voyager.

I guess thats why no one will give me six figures...

Nothing. I've bought and sold lots of gear, but I've never regretted a single purchase, even if I didn't end up using some piece too much. If anything, I've regretted NOT buying stuff I could have bought for a good price. Most of what I've bought, I eventually sold for space reasons, or simply to finance a better piece of gear, but even the crappiest synth I've had was fun to play with. I wish I had an immense room and constant cash flow so I could keep everything.

Final Scratch, bought it about 3 years ago, crashed during a live set. Had no backup. I was literally on stage with a broken laptop with about 100 people staring at me. I joking pretended to throw the laptop on the ground to lighten things up. fukin hate Stanton for that akwardness!
