Corrupt memory card

i just uploaded a ton of files to the memory card and now my mpc1000 is freezing when i turn it on with the card inserted. if i just turn it on and then insert the card it will read and load most file it just wont save. i think i put a corrupted file on it. please tell me i can save some of the files and not have to just reformat the card. thanks

Do you have a computer of some sort? If the card is accesible why not just dump the files back to your computer, reformat the card and put the files back there.

If you suspect any file is bad, leave those in the computer and transfer the rest. Although I find it strange that a single file should kill the whole startup, as I remember from when I used CF there were no indications that it scanned the files on the card upon startup. Isn´t it more likely that an unhealthy and corrupt CF-card causes such a problem?
Anyway, dump the files via USB to computer, format the CF-card, check functionality with a handful of files.

And most important, have a look at the inside of the MPC slot, make sure there are no missing or bent pins...
