Could people reference how they know? For instance The Beatnut's first album is one of my all time favourites but i have never heard/read what gear it was made on.. how did u find this out?

DJ shadow used the 60MKII and from what I know he only used one.. most likely what ever made you believe it was done using several MPCs was probably done using one and a multi track recorder or something.

I read it in an interview with them awhile back, Ive also heard people mention it in passing for awhile.

Dj Shadow used 2 MPC3000's midi'd together for a album or 2.

Yup on Entroducing was all 60, decks, ADat? and Pro Tools from Dan The Automator

I "think" the private press on was done in the first stages with the two MPC 3000's midi together. Check out the book Behind the Beat it has a couple of pages with Shadows setup at the time.

In the DJ Premier interview, he says: "For example, I use de-essers to create a certain sound, rather than to take the crispness out of certain sharp words".
Does anyone have an idea on what songs he could have used that approach? I find it so weird :p
