i been wondering something and im not at my mpc right now. i know how to set up velocity switching on the mpc so if i hit the pad harder than x it plays a different sound. my question is, aren't i assign a different note number based on velocity and would that work if i assign a track to midi and do it. like will it transmit a different midi note # based on velocity? i have been strictly using the mpc as a midi controller recently and this seems like it could be really useful. maybe i just need to learn how to work the nnxt in reason and figure out it's velocity mapping.
i had this idea of using velocity to switch between a set of normal drum sounds, and reversed versions of the same sounds, and granulized (i love granulab) versions of the same sounds. i think it would be very useful.
any velomappers out there?
