Artisits to sample for flutes

I have been searching through my sample library and have noticed that I am seriously lacking any good flute samples. I was wondering if you guys would drop some names of artists to sample for good flutes. Thanks in advance....

All of Paul Horns records are a good starting point for flute samples.

Yusef Lateef - The man makes and plays his own flutes. And his playing is more like the Blues.

hubert laws, herbie mann, mandrill...the list could seriously go forever but just go to a record store and look on the back or records for flute. it usually tells u all the instruments used on the records on the back or inner sleeve.

Funny... I was asking a mate yesterday about flute artists to look up.

They were saying Jethro Tull, but he's more rock than I was thinking.

Who knows some flute players from the 70's funk era... Think big **** up afros, Jim Kelly, enter the dragon, blaxploitation, shaft, 70's cop shows.... dunno how else to describe the sound. I think Herbie Mann is prolly along those lines.

Alternatively there's countless sample libraries out there with very high quality flute phrases and loops if you look for them. It all depends on your needs.
