2kxl as a sound module

hey guys.

ok ok i know you veterans are thinking - another question on this, or i should rtm but ive seriously looked all around the 2000xl forums for help on this. so i dont have usb to hook my mpc up and i cant seem to find a way to make my computer recognized my MPC. i checked one thread where a member put up a bunch of links to youtube and other threads and found a youtube vid on how to set it up in logic here

my set up:
mpc2000xl
m-audio uno midi interface
presonus firepod
yamaha mm1 syth

i used the m-audio uno to sync my beats in logic, but now i would like the use the pads as a sound module. i know how to internally turn off the sounds in the akai (somewhat like local on/off) and read the manual all around the midi/sync and it just seems more for using the mpc as a slave... i feel like im really close just dont know what im doing wrong. any help would be appreciated.

well yeah.. so hook up a keyboard/sequencer and fire away right? I think hit 'open screen' when cursor over the midi section of the track and you can route different midi ins to diff programs or something

tried that and logic still doesn't see the MPC

however, what should I hook my MPC to my interface, keyboard or my MIDI interface - m-audio uno....?

maybe try to setup logic to send midi data on the specified track of the mpc? eh?

never messed with logic but that might be the thing.

What do you mean by "make my computer see the MPC"? Do you mean be able to send and receive MIDI signals to/from your MPC?

yes. i want to open MIDI instrument/software instrument in my DAW and basically use the pads like you would use a MIDI keyboard/controller. however, when i hook my MPC up to any of the midi sources i.e. Firepod, keyboard/midi controller, midi interface it still doesnt trigger.

im pretty sure have the process all wrong though in the MPC... i have no clue where to hook it up etc... i was using my MIDI interface (m-audio uno)because that seemed like the logical choice, but i think my DAW only recognizes that for MIDI/SYNC...

overall i would like to use the drums in logic, but sequence them on my MPC if that makes any sense. Ive been all over chap. 12 in the manual and cant find anything relating to that... or i must be missing some akai/tech term about this or something.
