I have room on my zip disk but when I try to save a program it says "file directory full". What does this mean?

How many files are in the root directory of your zip?

512 max.

Aight fellas thanks. So if I have alot of room left on my zip, but I used all the root file space, am I shit outta luck. Or is there something else I can do besides erasing everything?

get more zip disks, or maybe make some folders and see if storing things on folders helps at all.

yup

place stuff in folders to cut down on the number of files in the root directory = 2kxl.
place stuff in partitions to cut down on the number of files in the root directory = 2k.

512 is a limitation of FAT, just gotta adapt and overcome.
