I cant sync the hardware with the software. Im really about to revert back to my Roland VS 1680 it was no problem.
These ports and inputs and device setup stuff really got me twisted. Im not new to Midi, but new to midi wit software so Im mad frustrated that its taking me almost 3 weeks to find a solution. It just kills my beat making vibe .....
I have a USB to Midi cord from the MPC to the computer. I set up the MPC to recieve on 1 and all that to slave you know. Nothing happening. Im not a quitter but when u cant record your beat and lyrics so you can get your idea out its drives you crazy. Any help would be appreciated

Be easy fam........First I'd make sure that your Midi to usb is enabled in you comps controll panel....

If it allready is......Open up a session.....On the tool bar at the top click transport......Select sync setup...From there its pretty easy to see....Just select the midi ins outs...Time code...Time clock....

At least thats how you set it up in the version I got.......

Hope it works out for ya......

On the real tho Midi sux....I track out one at a time all stereo With a pre click track on the mpc's play....Then tab to transient Make a cut and move it all back....Everything lines up perfect....

Good Luck

Thanks Pz for trying to help me playa but my status is still stuck on stopmode.
Cubase SE only sends Midiclk but doesnt recieve it. Mpc can only be slaved because of that. I"ve seen other versions with several midi options so I guess i got played by Cubase SE. Someone recommend I use Acid Pro 7 because of its consistant midi reputation and simple interface. I work 8 hours a day so I need to be productive during my time off.
I even heard Dangermouse had some success using this program so I may download a trial version.
I'm at a crossroads. Simplicity is all I need to track out my beats.

No cubase does receive midi.....But if your tryin to slave the MPC then You want you cubase to send...and the MPC to recieve.....Bro...I use the same vr of cubase...3sx....It works...

Did you check in you system controll panel sounds and audio devices.......Make sure your usb to midi is selected there as well as in cubase......Everytime I hook up the midi to usb I have to do this.......

Really tho.......Midi sucks......Set the MPC to play a preclick track....So you get the four count click from just hittin play.......Then line all the clicks up.....I cant remember if cubase has a shortkut to the transient....But it shouldn't be hard to line up with out.....

Hi,

sorry if this sounds stupid...
if you are recording out as you say (one track at a time, with a pre click) does this mean that there is no point constructing the 'song' on the mpc?
Would you just record every trak all the way through and then remove the sections you want silenced to create breakdowns etc?

thanks

That is correct....I Never mess with song mode....Its easier for me to just go threw each seq....I used to use midi......But I got some inside info from the dopest producer from my area...And He said never use midi......I trust his judgment ....
