Anyone up for this?

Every week you drop a gem from your sample library - be as generous as you like. Doesn't have to be super upfront or anything, but you still gotta come correct.

Anyway, I'll go first:
Hiro Tsunoda - Type A To E

Tight japanese drummer from the 70s, this is a real nice collection of tight breaks probably made for a Library record, I pulled it off a comp. Perfect for hip hop, loads of tight kicks and snares, splashy tops. Makes you wish it was type A - Z. I couldn't find a picture, but I reckon this is what he looked like.

I tried puttin' y'all up on some real obscure breaks (including this one), but dudes had sarcastic jokes & sh*t about cost of records (where's the 2000 records dude??).

Sweet - is Type A to E on that release?

That Original Popcorn break is a fatty - I think I recognize it from a J-Live track, not sure which one off the top of my head though.

Type A to E is on there, LP is straight outta Japan. The whole LP is dope cover versions of songs, and most open up with open drum breaks. Now the Original Popcorn record, is a tough mutha to get. OG pressings go for $900.00 to $1200.00 on e-bay easily whenever they're available. Once again, that LP also opens up with drum breaks on most of the songs, breaks in the middle, phased drums, you name it.

Squirrel Nut Zippers - Trou Macacq

When you first listen to this, it sounds like it'll be hard to grab anything that could be used for hip hop. Listen harder (or listen to it on headphones).

Put it into your sample editor and mute the left channel. The first four bars should just be double bass and some hats. Stick on a low pass filter and you've got yourself a lush isolated double bass phrase that you can easily chop and map to the MPC pads. Don't say I aint good to you!

If you don't know the Squirrel Nut Zippers, they're on some mad 1930s-swing-ish. Really nice stuff. I used to close a set with this in college - nothing like making a room full of headz mosh to some klezmer.

C'mon peeps - don't hold out! If you post something it doesn't have to be rare or anything, after all - not everyone is versed in the classic samples.

That means its a $500 dollar record at best but somebody caught it for $90 on Ebay , so it's not impossible to get .

$475.00....Original pressing or re-press? LP or 7"? If you saw one go for $90.00, I'd almost guarantee it's a repress, which is a fine cop by me. I sold a repress on ebay for $150.00 a few months back.
