Compact Flash to SD?

Just wondering if anyone has given this a try? I found this adapter on Amazon:

I didn't see any results about this when searching the forum.

if ur gonna spend almost 20 bucks on an adapter why not just by a CF card?

Compact Flash doesn't seem to be a media format that will be around as long as SD at this point, and thinking of it in terms of future proofing, I suppose you could say.

I can't even think of a recently released device, or at least a popular one, in which Compact Flash is the standard. Though, admittedly, I'm not highly familiar with the camera/video camera world, but seems most of those use SD.

I bought one of these and it works with my MPC3000, but I'm using w/PCMCIA

The one thing u can't see from the pic is that it is 'taller' than a regular CF card.

It might be a tight squeeze.

well if thats the case, then just get a hard drive.. lol

Of course, that's a really good point!

Perhaps it's me being used to having a few projects per disk from my 2000XL days, but I like the idea of having a series of songs that make use of the same kit(s) on one disk.

Overall, I'll be backing everything up via the USB connection, so storage size is not a concern--I'm approaching this purely from a longevity standpoint. PATA 2.5" HDs aren't manufactured anymore to my knowledge, and I've never liked the idea of buying a used HD anyway.

At this point, let's just call me curious--does anyone have experience with this working on a 2500? It seems likely it would, considering it worked for zuesmajor, but a firsthand experience isn't bad to hear about!

I can't tell from the google pics how flush the CF card fits in the slot.

If there's a little head room, everything should be fine.

I'll have access to my 2500 in a week, best I can do for now.

Works great with a micro SDHC adapter. It seems to load much faster than standard Compact Flash too. Don't know how to benchmark such a thing? I don't care, it works!
