Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

HEy i get my new mpc tomorrow and i was wondering what i will need to sample records i know a turntable but does it have to be connected to a mixer or could i just hook it up staight to the turntable and if you can could you get me a nice video or topic to teach you to sample thanks

ok first of all... you might not want to get blasted on here so use the search next time because every one of those types of questions have been asked more times this year then you have blinked in your whole life.... also read the manual. if you dont own the hard copy then go to the akai pro website and download the digital version of the manual (pdf)

next thing, you can plug the turntable directly but it will be low volume and it will sound empty and "tinny" and thin. if you use a mixer, it will sound better.

the reason for this is because 90% of turntables give a phono output, which is designed for phono inputs. the mpc does not have this, it has a LINE INPUT.

look around for phono preamps too.
