floppy disc problem

I bought a 2000xl (with floppy drive). and also bought a cardreader for it. installed it. Not working. Found information that OS 1.20 is needed (mine is 1.14).
Downloaded 1.20. Hooked up my floopy drive to computer, formatted three new floppy discs, saved the 1.20 OS to them.
installed the floppy back to mpc. Choose floppy from the LOAD menu - nothing, it says "disc read error".
Everything is connected well.

Dont't know what might be a problem.

Please help.

try formatting the disks ON the MPC. then copy the os from the computer without doing anything else...

Nope. There is no Do It option in the Format window for Floppy.
As if the floppy doesnt work. But I have two of them and it's the same with both.

so basically the floppy does nothing at all? is it possible you didn't plug the power connector into the floppy or perhaps the ribbon cable is upside down?

It turned out that both of them didn't work with mpc (but worked with the computer).
Well, whatever. I took the third floppy device from my friend and it worked like a charm.
I guees I will never solve this f...king mistery anyway, so I won't even bother.
