Hey guys,

I am having issues with my 2000 not going to scusi. Actually what happens it kind of freezes up. I hit,

Funct. Disk
Move the dial past floppy, past flash then i get

waiting........................................ and my mpc will just stay there. Like it wants to do something but does not. I have rebooted and disconnected the Scusi and still no avail. Has anyone else had this problem. Any advice would be great. Thanks!

im not sure about the classic 2000, but i remember i always went to load and it said 'scsi not ready!' panicked... and then i realized that a disk wasn't in my zip drive. i put a disk in and it found the scsi device and disk. try to switch it with a disk in your zip. not sure if this is a solution, but its worth a try. use a blank disk/disk you dont care about just to be safe...

good luck!

I guess its the SCSI fuse. Its blown and you need to desolder the old one and get a new fuse. Be wise and buy a socket for the new fuse. Makes life easier when the fuse blows again.

Parallel scsi drives will not work. There is an old thread somewhere around here that shows the connectors on a parallel drive vs a normal scsi drive so you can compare the connectors, you'll have to find it.

SCSI 6 is mpc default, so you need to use another number, 0-5 should work fine. 5 is a favorite.
