I pull all my samples from vinyl or CD if vinyl isn't available (like the SNZ release), the stuff I've posted here isn't meant to go directly into your track, just to give you an idea of the sample I'm talking about. I probably gave the wrong idea when I talked about processing the SNZ sample, but I meant to pull it from the actual release. I'm not going to spend good money on a record and then give away a lossless sample - you can have an MP3 off it sure, but you gotta cop it to get the full benefit.

Maybe you could grace us mere mortals with a sample from your obviously extensive and superior sample library and show us how it's done.

What does the og cover look like ? What I saw on popsike claimed to be original lp's with a blue cover . i'm not familiar with the record myself so I can determine .

That means its a $500 dollar record at best but somebody caught it for $90 on Ebay , so it's not impossible to get .


$475.00....Original pressing or re-press? LP or 7"? If you saw one go for $90.00, I'd almost guarantee it's a repress, which is a fine cop by me. I sold a repress on ebay for $150.00 a few months back.

Cheers FATT LACED, these are really good. However i couldnt see anywhere 2 download them? Only way i could think would be 2 play them and record out straight into the MPC (which i cant do right now because my laptop is gash)

I can download and then transfer via USB, so let me know if there is a download option.

Yeah they're pretty nice - never thought of checking drum manufacturers for samples. I probably wouldn't use a compressed digital sample for my main kicks/snares, but they might be quite good to layer under something meatier.

As for recording them, check out Audio Hijack Pro or Soundflower. You can use them both to record what's playing from your computer. While is easier to use, Soundflower lets you route audio around your system, so you could have the system audio out coming into a channel in your DAW. Soundflower is open source too, which is nice.

Represses often look identical to the original. Goldwave also lets you record what's coming from your soundcard.

I checked a few on popsike, and none that I saw definitely stated original pressing. Take THIS ONE for example. This is the repress, and it went for 315.00 GBP, which is $525.00. :shock:

Also most recently, THIS ONE is the one you saw that sold in May 09 for $473.00, and it's a repress. :shock: :shock:

So none of those were the og's ? that's crazy . I've been into it for a minute so I know a lillte something but most represses that I've seen either

!. Look like a bootleg ( blury graphics , blury label )
2. Look to shiny to be og
3. Say " originally released 1/1/73 "
4. Or were pressed on a totally different label known for reissues and have a different cover

Are we talking about the same thing ? You got reissues , bootlegs and second pressings but I'm not too familiar with repressings.

Now some second pressings are still legit , cause they were pressed by the original label so technically it's still an og pressing , just pressed at a later time . Some are pressed a couple years later and some are pressed like 10 years later . Me personally I dont consider a record pressed a decade later OG , but 2 years yeah . If the second pressing is as hard to find as the first then its still going to go for big bread .

I finally found a clean copy of Lunar Funk " Slip The Drummer One " today .

FAIL.

OG pressings = Original Pressings (i.e. the first time it was pressed)

Not Second Pressings or Third Pressings, etc.-

regardless of if it was the same label that did the pressings, even if it was the same year as the OG press, it's still a second pressing if there was a pressing before it.

End of story.
