Guru lmao.... Those who compare us to that haven't played ours yet... Or even heard our demo beats vs theirs..... How about this why don't we have someone make a track using only guru and their presets VS me using only virtual and our preset sounds.......

Can you give us some info on filters (HPF, LPF, BPF, etc) and envelopes please? What is the architecture with regard to patch / kit creation?

Also, do you plan to implement a Roland style X0X grid interface for entering sequence data?

What are the options for moving sequencer data around once recorded?

What's the plan re: release of PDF manuals, etc?

What are the plans for worldwide distribution? Is supply via website only? Very keen to test the hardware when available - will it be in UK music shops?

I've not seen this in any of the UK mags yet such as Future Music, Sound on Sound, etc. Sure they'll pick up on it soon but you should send them details if you've not done so already.

With regard to hardware warranty, what will you be offering?

Like the look of what I've seen so far and looking forward to seeing the reactions of competitors and users across the industry.

Reminds me of the ASR-X which was a classic hidden behind a less than perfect user interface. From the video, yours looks easier to navigate; nested menus can be a real pain. Also, the different bar lengths is a great feature, as per the RS7000.

Would be good to hear some more beats made exlusively with the Beat Thang. Also, would like to see some more videos online showing full feature set - sampling, sequencing, resampling, etc, etc.

Will there be any scene functions for sounds as with the RS7000? Another very useful feature that allows you to easily switch between multiple variations on the same basic sound at the push of a button.

Also, are the controls assignable in terms of internal editing functions?

With regard to re-sampling, can you specify a particular range to resample as with the RS7000 and MC-909? The ASR-X did not allow this and had to be done manually.

Talking of the ASR-X, is anyone from Ensoniq involved with the Beat Thang? I saw one of the guys mentioned earlier in this post but have not read every single page yet as there are so many! Just catching up now.

At this point in time, without any knowledge of sales figures, what is your expected producted life cycle with regard to ongoing support and updates?

Just about to order the Beat Thang Virtual. Looks like an interesting piece of software that will give me an idea of whether I'll be willing to risk some hard earned cash on the hardware that follows later this year.

Oh hell yeah, the Kangz hooked me up! When you pre-order the hardware, they send you the software and a t-shirt for free. And they let me pay half and the rest will be paid at day of release. They really help out and customer service is professional. You actually contact a human being, not some email bot.

I got my order in about 5 days from when it was shipped.

I'm just using a basic compaq laptop and asio4all allows me to do what I need with no latency.

I like the soundset, it's pretty quality, nice drums and riffs included.

The flexibility of the fx and the layering allow you to do what you need to your own samples.

The overall experience to me is pretty much like an instrument instead of just a tool, meaning it feels like it's own little environment.

As with any software, there are things I would change, add, or improve, but overall it's very easy to use, the workflow is nice, and it doesn't get in the way of my music making.

I will be doing a full review of it probably later this week.

Yes we will have a step SEQ with grid. Thats on the way for both Virtual and Hardware

Polyphony will be at least 64 voices. We haven't done the optimizing yet so higher if the system can handle it.

I dont know who said sept but its OCT.... It says it all over our site....

We'll pack as much as we can into the first release but hell SW is never done. We'll be still upgrading and refining and adding, incorporating feedback etc on going. Updates will be easy and plentiful...

BeatKangz - are you planning to set up your own Forum(s) once the Beat Thang becomes available. Just catching up on this thread and there certainly appears to be enough interest!

I've been buying music equipment for a long time and it's interesting to see something marketing in this way. Obviously, the Internet is widely used these days but never seen anything done quite like this before.

The virtual hasn't came in the mail yet but when it does I'll keep yall posted whats it like.

I'm more of a hardware-man thats why I ordered the Thang. But when they hit me with ''you get the soft for free'' I was like ''umm...alright! cool!'' If anyone is interested in both the Virtual and the BeatThang, this is the deal to jump on. Plus the shipping is FREE.

I've been using the MPC1000 now for 5 years so if the Virtual Beat Thang can give me a more efficient work flow and overall experience then I'm switching completely over.
