so on the hunt for some new drum sounds I loaded up a bunch of kits into my 2500 a few minutes ago.
(side note: im currently using JJos free 3.09 until my warranty work is done and I get JJOSxl or OS2)
Ok so I am well aware of the 24 program limit in 3.09 free. and aware of the 999 sample count as well.
so I sequence some snares and kicks. stacking em in the sequence to stack more than 4 or so looking for creative sounds and what not.. and then play the seq and resample it so I can cut and trim the new sounds..
Well as u know once you sample something and go to trim, the last thing you sample is right there.. or if you go to program and hit a pad, then go to trim, same thing the last sample you hit is on screen.
well when I sampled my stacked sequence and went to trim it wasnt there. Not thinking I sampled it again, and then again, each time going to trim after and sure enough it was still not there. it was a Hihat instead, Im like huh?
So I go to the Sample list, and see its full at 999 samples.. even though I still had 80mb of 128 free (lots and lots of very small samples loaded).
Well to my surprise what happened is the memory allows every sound from all 24 kits I loaded up into memory but since 3.09 only addresses 999 sounds I had to remove the excess sounds after 999 from the memory in order to get my new sample01, sample02 and sample03 to appear on the list.
SO I am wondering, how many samples can you load into os2 and osxl? I know its like 99 programs I believe, but whats the sample count limit?
Im gonna go dig around on the jj site for the info , but if someone knows off the top spit it.
