MY MPC HAS A WEIRD SMELL...

WHAT UP...I FINALLY GOT MY NEW MPC 2000XL. HOWEVER I NOTICED IT HAS A WEIRD METALIC SMELL. IS THIS NORMAL? ITS COMING FROM THE LEFT SIDE PANEL RIGHT BY THE LEFT TOP CORNER OF THE LCD SCRREN. PUT YOUR NOSE RIGHT NEXT TO THE PWER CORD AND TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE LCD. IT DOESNT SMELL LIKE ANYTHING IS BURNING IT JUST HAS A WEIRD METACLIC SMELL....ANYONE ELSE'S MPC GOT THIS???

All my electronic appliances have a distinct smell.... Including the mp!

can somone do me a BIG favor and spell there mpc 2000 near the Power Cable and see if they smell a weird metalic oily smell

No smell on mine, but I've had it 5 years. Is yours new? It could just be some residue from the factory machinery?!? If it is an XL with the tilting screen it could be some lubricant on that?!?

It's probably just the power transformer on the inside warming up since it's new.
The smell should go away when you use it after awhile.

Yeah my MPC is BRAND new...i only had it like 24hours and used it for around 2hours...it does kida smell like new metal..but im just worried.

Mine smells fine to me, but it might be because its new, I can't remember i've had my MP for a while now.

I got my XL back in January... I know what you're talking about... It has to break in... Mine had a similar smell when it was brand new... It's normal...

yeah mine i bought used and it has this same smell. and the pads smell like cheetos.

Yes. I think lots of us are closely following the adventures of ducthmasta & his MPC purchase in Hong Kong.......the shady character he bought it from, the problems with the electrical supply, now the strange smell.

I'm waiting for "my MPC glows in the dark!!!"
