Fitting the 8 extra outputs

Hi

I recently bought a second hand 8 out put board for my 2000xl.

But when I opened up the MPC to fit it there are no mountings inside the MPC. Should I have received the mountings with the board (all I got was the board, connecting cable and a couple of screws)? I can't understand it.

The manual just says fit it. Not much help really...

I can send a photo of the inside of the MPC if that helps.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I bought the MPC second hand. Do you think that someone has feked around inside with it and removed parts? I can't even see where the mountings were or should be - its strange. When I fitted the effects board it just slotted in dead easy and took about 3 secs to fit!! This has my head scratching and I am not sure if I am going to have to try and rig something up inside the MPC myself. Not ideal as I am not very practical....

Do you have any suggestions...??

Sounds like you bought a board that was taken from a S2000 or a S3000XL.

People often salvage the 8-output board from a S2000 or S3000XL and put it inside their 2k/2kXL since the boards are identical. They work the same, but only the IB-M208P kit has the correct mounting hardware to fit inside the 2k/2KXL. The only thing that should be inside the MPC are the standoffs to attach the bracket to.

Unfortunately, you'll have to get creative and mount it yourself. If you search the forums, there's a few threads on how others have done this.

It's really easy to mount. just get 4 small nuts the size of the ones on the SMTP connectors, screw them onto the output jacks and you're mounted!
