Comedy that=promotion for the beat thang. Havent you heard:"There is no such thing as good or bad publicity"

Crossings, YOU are probably the rep, creating a one-man haterthon just to get people into the thread....You are making me want to try the beat thang HW/SW more than the Beat Kangz themselves, just so I could shut you up.

In the beat kangz dream world, in October, when the hardware drops, everyone on the planet will sell there MP's/ASR's/SP's and cop Beat Thangz.
In the MPC heads dream world, Roger Linn comes back to Akai to re-revolutionize the beat machine world.
In reality, some MPC headz WILL switch over, some headz will cop the Beat Thang as their first piece of music equipment and some headz will stay using what they know.

You cant criticize if youve never touched the Thang, and until you do you are just a hater.

On that note, Beat Kangz, get at me, Im done school tomorrow and I start looking for work Mon. Youve got my resume!

man, this thread is making me want to buy a 1k just so i can sell it.

why is it any of your concerns if people prefer certain gear over other gear... it is starting to sound like people are insecure that maybe their main piece of gear is not the most popular anymore or some sh!t...

let the man have his trial with the virtual beat thang and stop hating on him.. if he likes it better for the stuff HE IS MAKING... then how does that play a role in what YOU are doing?

Another voice of reason in this thread, thank you! You and jonestownmassacre are the only ones I've seen in the last 4 pages talk sensibly and intelligent.

lol @ me lookin' like a kangz rep by calling them out on their spammin techniques... that is a hilarious statement.

but please do get rid of your MPCs if you can't distinguish a real beat-making machine from a piece of sh!t that needs "grillz" to make it sound more appealing.

ps: shouldn't the kangz just start their own forum already? maybe then all you desperate jobless mofos can flock over there to ride their thangz.

hey man, if it weren't for jjos, the 1k would be a piece of shit too... in all seriousness, people want to get something new. they want to try out a new machine made this day and age... what is there to choose from?

roland hasn't said anything about a new MV,

akai's latest stuff is trash...

lindrumm is more of a rumour then this machine is (since it looks like beat kangs are actually starting to sell a piece of gear this fall)

who else do we have? open labs? that is cool, but who has that kind of money for a groovebox? (that d-beat thing)

yeah mpc's are great, but you gotta explore other things instead of letting one machine do all your thinking for you... you are already calling a machine a piece of sh!t when you haven't even used one. Right there that just makes you look like a fool.

the name and the grills are the things I dont find too attractive, but the specs are not sh!t... they actually sound more or less up to date. look at the latest mpc, the ram upgrade is still 128megs... wtf is that? the only effort they put in was making it impossible to buy the ram upgrade from anywhere else.

personally i am bored of the "it comes with ???Gigs of sounds" because I dont want to take the chance of using the same instrument sounds as other people... never know. I prefer finding my own sounds or recording my own sounds with a field recorder.

bong **** bong! Not to mention the pad sensor issue...

Akais pricing=**** ripoff! When I had a 1000, I paid $25 for the same **** thing, but it wasnt red and it didnt have an Akai logo.

did not catch all of the stuff from the past 3 pages but crossings is sounding like an akia elitist, perhaps on akia payroll or just hating on some new shit cos peeps sometimes like to feel like their equipment is the best thing out.

but that should not matter as long as ur happy with what ur using why be concerned about what someone else has decided to use?

the software has every feature of the mpc and more so there is no reason why it cannot fulfil the function of the mpc.

ive had my 1k since jan and id defo swap the 1k for a beat thang package cos i like hardware and the portable aspect and the idea of using it as a controller or tansfering shit from the pc.

peeps get closed minded about new things and start hating when they feel threatned by it, but really its a silly stand point to take.

Beatkangz guy...just curious, You may of already addressed this but I may of missed it.

What kinds of filters are you guys going to put in the Thang? And if any, would it be possible on the THANG to route say a LPF to an LFO? to essentially synthesize the sounds?.

Thanks for the info

This thread makes me laugh.

Everyone's so excited about $200 PC software that has the functionality of an iphone app.

"But it's going to change my workflow!!!!"

My A55. Either you guys are shills or you don't understand the MPC in the first place. Hell I'm new and even I get it.

Seriously...have fun with your new toy and feel free to let us know when you're back to the real deal.

NICE REAL NICE

nda agreements do not prevent you from saying you are talking with a person. They usually protect the intellectual property of the union, any designs, products, specifications, or features discussed between the two, the party signing is not at liberty to share that info.

the company can't speak on whatever they want.

Only reason I know how these work, is because I've had to sign quite a few dealing with various software/hardware companies.
