Not a 4k user anymore..got rid of it months back for some other stuff. and it was the best choice i ever made. the 4k wasnt for me. i dont perfer the clean sound it gives. i needed something more rugged, so i swithed to the sp1200. but no love lost. im about to get a mpc60 aswell in the next few days. ive produced music on mpc2000 mpc2500 mpc2000xl mpc1000 mpc4000. and of all the newer mpcs that ive owned id defenetly say the mpc2500 definetly has my vote. at first when i got the 2500 i was kind of disapointed becuase i had previously been using the mpc1000 with jjos and it was the exact same thing for much lower price. but its all good. the layout of it makes it worth its money alone i think. it also has a much darker sound i believe. at any rate thats my unit of choice. the 4k is okay, buts its almost tooo much for what i want to do. i want to be creative and use what i have. its almost like using a computer program with a midi controler.

Ah.. the classic SP1200. Did you get the original or the re-issue? Either way, those are not easy to come by. I'm a little jealous... :D
