F1-F6 Buttons Recessed

I've noticed on the 2000XL I just got that the F buttons are recessed a bit and sit a bit lower than the others. Anybody else have this problem or know a fix for it?

While you dis- and reassembled your MPC several times to repaint everything, couldn't you have a look at what's up with the buttons?

Tried that. They look fine. That's why I'm not sure what the problem is.

My 2oooXL is the same way, and Ive never opened it up. Ive hardly ever used it either and when i have, I havent made much use of the F buttons. I can remember though when I first bought it, the buttons being kind of awkward that way. But everything works fine.

My mpc is like that also.

It good be that the metal casing warped as it was exposed to sun or something, mine is the same way.....but works fine

Mine was like that too. It's just cosmetics. You can take the top panel off and slightly push in the area of the F buttons to make it more flush. That's what I did.
