MPC500 drops out after playing for a few min., reverb issue?

Hallo!

I am new to the MPC world, I just bought an MPC500 and so far I am really happy with my purchase.

BUT:
I experience one major error, let me explain what happens:

To test and get used to work with the MPC, I loaded a few drumsamples from my library into the new CF card I bought (2GB, SanDisk Ultra II).
After the samples are loaded into the MPC (Bank A and B used, 24 sounds in total, but only 7 (!) used in the sequence),
I recorded the tracks one by one (A1 - bassdrum, A2 - snare, A3 - hihat, aso. up until A7).


The machine is playing the loop and all samples totally fine.

Since I would like to do some panning adjustments, volumes and effect settings to the single samples after I recorded them, I am running the loop and change the the settings.

Let's say I put FX1 to AutoPan and FX2 to REVERB.
I set FX1 for the Percussion and FX2 for the Snare.

Actually I also put FX1>FX2 to ON so that the Percussion has some of the Reverb as well.
The machine does all that FINE!

After a few loops (and it happens all the time no matter what),
the samples are getting cut out and it is NOT possible to have 2 samples play at the same time.
It sounds more or less like a Metronome with a few other samples thrown in.

If I change the FX2 from Reverb to any other effect, the samples and my loop are back to normal.
ONLY if I change back to FX2 > Reverb this happens again.

(This can also happen when I am in Track Mute and switch the tracks on and off to have some kind of a built to my "song". Also after a few minutes in the loop...)

I find this really annoying and would like to ask if this has something to do with a faulty machine,
or if I am doing something totally wrong.
I can hardly believe that the machine is not capable of the action I would like to do...

Check your Voice Overlap and Mute Group settings for every pad. Usually for drums I put the Voice setting to Mono.

Check page 79 in the manual for details.

I think this is the problem.
I went back to the shop this morning
and of course this didn't happen.
But we found out that 2 of the pads had the "mute group" set to 1.
I guess that was the problem, I'll try it out later.

This unit have 32 notes of polyphony but the effects eats 2 notes of polyphony each. So there's your problem.
