Whats good YALL? new to this site, but a real MPC head Like most here "hopefully"
i figured the masters of this site prolli post on this part of the forum with the most meaning, so i began here.

Hope i can be of some kinda help....n hopefully i can find it here if i need it.

I Been had damn near every MPC besides 5000 (shit in my view compared with tha O.G.s) and still learning.


But anywas...im on cloud nine right now and sometime or another today ima have a few questions for yall.

first compatibility question i have for yall....

ok. so i am a graduate of full sail, worked in pressure point recording studios for a while, and now in the process of planning and building a studio, somewhere in south florida. but as far as me, i am an on the road producer, always packing all my gear in the trunk and hitting the interstate. but i have one problem, my DAW and virtual instruments are getting old, and i cant seem to just be satisfied with using a midi controlling keyboard. I have been Paying attention to open labs, and have been seemingly wondering if a NeKo or MiKo is the right way to go as far as workflow and reliability. the size isnt my concern, cuz i know there pretty un-space-saving if ya know what i mean, but i want something that will help eliminate some extra gear ive been lugging around. But my main focus on this is the compatibility of my baby the 4000. feedback? Alternate routes? i mean the price thing is not really an issue to me, but for some people they spend more on a car and would laugh at the idea at buying a $6,000 plus keyboard & paying almost $800 for a case seems pretyy obscene. but i am trying so be the best, use the best and make the best. Anyways...if anyone here has some opinions good or bad, and again alternate routes i will appreciate the feedback. so yall holla back...

Buddy, to be honest I really came to conclusion that you should get what you need. So my advice is: think what you need and get it. Why would I want to spend money on something that I don't need? So simple yet so helpful, for me at least...
Since you can sync and use ak.sys to comunicate with computer I would say it's compatible with everything you might think of. Just would like to add that most expensive doesn't always means the best.

Like I said, workflow and reliability...those are my two main focuses on this new keyboard workstation I am interested in. I mean would you lean towards a triton? Fantom? Open labs? Even moog (synth wise)? I'm just tryna get everyones opinion on which way to take ya know? Experience on a certain one? No experience @ all?

I say if you want to have the most sounds at your disposal...and be able to constantly add/update your daw and vsts...yet still move around... the niko/miko is a dope chioice.

compatibility will be the same as with any midi machine, but you will also be able to mess around with aksys on there too.

like someone else said, it really depends on you...sounds like you think the open labs will work, and for most, money IS an issue on why to not get one.

if you're mobile, yet want to have the most flexibility I'd say go with an open labs joint.

if you like the particular sound of another workstation, then work with that.

but yes, your 4k will work fine with any openlabs gear, sequence it just like another workstation

I'm not gonna be like others and say "you can just clone the other workstations" because I don't think that is the most effective way of workin. Sure...you can clone some favorite sounds, but it's not a replacement for the actual workstation.

so yeah man...i'm going in circles...but ultimately, do what ya like! I think the neko sounds good for ya...that's a powerful setup too.

Get both . The so called best don't even make there own shit. They pay guys like you to make the hits for them. I'm from Chitown been at it since 87 and still love underground HIP HOP. Sorry, but I don't listen to the radio or watch videos.

Anywayz, If I were in your shoes I'd go copp tha Neko Or Miko...I'm workin w/tha 4000 and Triton, but alot of triton users compain that it's not the best for on the road.
