MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

i've read these forums for a while now, and got the 5000 when it first came out about a year ago.

and there are two final things that seem to be foundation-oriented functions, ... i mean, like the sequencer itself, or the pads themselves.

the two are seemless looping, and even more important, proper working beat detection.

what if the 5000 came out with something like os 2.5 and had seemless looping and absolutely perfect or near perfect beat detection?

i think that would seriously add longevity to the machine, because these are things that might cause some people to change to a different machine in the future when things get better like they almost always do, ... but i would rather have a 5000 that is simply a 'classic' and becomes a sought after piece of hardware for years to come.

you know, like the original 3000 was. since this is really the 3500 anyway.

just my thoughts.

Yeah, the next OS should include a renaming to MPC 3500, finally :D
