You can do it via MIDI,don't forget to plug in the audio out also so you can hear what you are doing.

We know you have an MPC500 but that doesnt mean everything you post belongs in that forum.

Read your manual several times over and practice using your MPC to avoid posting multiple threads about real basic stuff.
