I was just on www.synthsite.com and was looking a user reviews of both machines. I was hearing real good things about the asrx, but the 303 was sort of gettin trashed. I know djandreas uses a 303 and his shit is raw, but the descriptions of the asrx was pullin me in. Both have dokey sequencers but both have decent effects. Do any of yall use one of these machines? I heard the sp-202 was better but the memory was a b*tch. The asrx is really lookin nice. I am going to use 1 of da machines wit a mpc 2000xl dat i am saving up for!

I would cop the 303... Then save up for an ASR-10 and hook them up together... I had the 505 and I've played with the 303... The 303 is heat and it's effects are superb... I've never played with an ASR-X, but nwhy6 get that when you can get the Keyboard version... I'd definitely get the 303 then cop an ASR-10 down the line...

I don't know about that. The MPC for the Sequencer with the ASR-x Pro for sampling is the BOMB!!!!

I still say why not get the ASR-10 down the line... The 303 is awesome... He'll get the MPC... Link them and then eventually get the ASR-10 and have a f*ckin killer set-up

haha why not?
first off use the mpc to sequnce the asr10s asmpler then the 303 as a one the fly sampler or for effects. Thats a good idea. dont listen to this dude. hahahaha
the asr-x with the mpc would be a real good team. Cause the sequencer, the thing that plays the sounds and records the midi movements to play the sounds, trigger, the sampler on the asrx is doo doo. But the mpc has the best round. owning a asr-x by itself would be wack.

use what you want, don't get caught up in getting something cuz it is the "it" sampler or machine

tru, some things take more work but you can get the sound you want with what you got, unless you are looking for a certain machine's sound,

say an mpc sound, then get the mpc

but if you jus want you tracks to sound a certain way, use whatever you got to get it to that point, otherwise you will keep buying gear cuz somebody says it is a must have

people get that boom-bap without having the sp1200 or mpc 60 you jus gotta freak it

i think the two machines in question are different

Thank you... Don't listen to me.... Why not??? More equipment just means more possibilities and more combinations... Different styles and sounds of samplers.... Different sequencers... Those 3 machines would be a killer set-up... Stop lookin at them as 3 samplers and start lookin at them as 3 Instruments... Each with a distinct style, sound, and feel

I definitely think the 303 is a more solid choice

nah man the asr x is the asr-10s sampler without the keys. Its a lot more powerfull then the groove box the 303. the 303 is only 4 tracks and it doesnt have the options the asrx has like filters and all that. an asrx are 12 bit and it will make ur drums grungy.

303 May not be 12-Bit but trust me it will make your drums grungy... Madlib did most of the Jaylib and Madvillain albums on his 303... I'm not sayin that's gonna make you as good as Madlib, but let's face it he's got some nice Gritty drums... Plus what are you talkin about... ASR-X filters... The 303 is hooked up with crazy FX... Really nice quality for the money especially...
