Just got my 1st asr 10 ... any tips or links for a beginner?

Hey ppl.... I just got my first asr 10 and am going through the manual and doing my research etc, but if anyone has any tips or links to help a beginner get started it'd be greatly appreciated.

I'm gonna be using it in conjunction with my 2000xl, so any info regarding using these 2 pieces together would be extra sweet.

...I've been checking out the asr 10 forum but it's pretty much dead.

or something like that.

Damn! 5th grade??? I was a sophmore when the IIc came out! damn I'm old!

hehehe... I remember writing the worlds worst games back on my c64 in basic ....well...copying them from a book anyway.

Thx for the input so far...I've got a more specific question about the asr... I'm trying to get midi working between the asr and my 2000xl but I'm not having any luck so far.

I've got the units' cables hooked up from the asr out to mpc in and mpc out to asr in.

Lineout from both units going to my amp.

I've got the midi setup on the asr instrument as 'both', the base midi channel as 1...the midi track on my mpc on midi -1a-device

The transmit on the asr on inst chan... asr midi set to multi

After looking around it seems a lot of people get stuck trying to play their mpc samples from the asr but they can play the asr from the mpc....i can't even get it to that stage.

I'm goin through the manual and reading some of Lamp's old posts about midi setup but still can't figure out why it's not working.

Plz let me know if you can see anything wrong with my settings or if you can think of anything that I may have missed.
