Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

I just got my new 500 today, and got to playing around with it a little bit. Now, when I try to turn it on all I get is a blank screen, the backlight turns on and off, but thats about it.

Is there any remedy for this at the moment? I'd really appreciate any answers. Thanks.

Are you running off batteries (if so I suspect they may need changing). If not - may be an idea to try and re-install the operating system.

I don't have a 500 to hand - the instructions will be on the AKAI site, I believe you need to download the image and put it on a CF card - then put the card in the (off) unit and switch it on holding down a key - maybe shift.

Instructions are on the AKAI website.

I had a problem with batteries that were strong enough to power the display but not boot the MPC. I'd check those, also try removing your CF card/batteries and just boot from the wall wart. I've had issues off and on that batteries/CF card can cause boot issues.
