MPC5000 reviews, bug reports and fellow user support on the most recent standalone, hardware MPC from Akai

checked it out

what's the deal ? a beat with a kick, snare , one other percussion hit and some vocals (and of course the inevitable head shaking guy looking as if he's doing some unbelieveble stuff on this box with knobs and faders...)
I fail to hear/see what's so special about it

but it's a recurrent scenario in almost every Youtube MPC movie : 'how to make a loop of 4 measures'
I really would like to see actually one song made with MPC.

Oh ok, I got it, the 'song' is made in a DAW (Profools) , the 2000 euro machine is only used to track a loop of 4 measures made of a a couple of samples worth 2 MB. You really need the MPC 5000 to make a beat like the Youtube one ? I think not.

what I mostly hear is absolutely no advertisement for MPC, beat from clip above you could make as well in MPC500...but yeah the 5000 looks far 'more impressive'

Yeah your full of shit! I have paid my dues~ I started out on a piece of shit MPC60 that the screen was half black, but I got it for $350 back in 1993! All I had then was a shitty ass turntable and that MPC60. Then I sold a few beats and got up enough scrilla for a brand spankin new MPC3000! Used that with a new Technics TT that I bought myself with earning from making beat tapes and mixtapes for rappers trying to make it! I sold beat for $10 if I had to! I have had every MPC since, save the 500 and 1000 (the pads - I just can't get along with).

I have had:

MPC60
MPC60II
MPC3000
MPC2000
MPC2000XL
MPC2500
and now the MPC5000

I still own the original 3000 and my original 2000XL and my 5000! So don't say all 5000 users have not paid there due's my man, because i have been making MPC beats for going on 16 years, since I was 15 years old!

I am not a 'hater'

I was just interested in the Youtube because you call it 'sick beats' and I just fail to see/hear what's so 'sick' about this quite uncomplex and 100% typical hiphop beat.

I was expecting something 'special' you know, not the xxxxth same old 4 bar hiphopbeat (doek tsik, doek doek tsik shaa)
