I think they need to have pattern mode where it can still play the pattern while kit mode is selected, it seems like the only simple way to handle this,, I mean who wants their beat to stop playing while they go adjust filters on their pads, then switch back and play the beat, then realize you need to change the kick filter a lil more, so switch back to kit mode and the beat stops again, switch back, play the beat, oh what, the sample needs to be tuned down a lil more., guess what? this sh*t takes forever, and the whole idea for the beat is lost with giggling this thang around,, my mpc 500 has better workflow then this at the moment, thats why im letting the thang set aside till the update, and if these features are not in the update then it looks like i just threw away 150.00 on something I cant use, and I hope this isnt the case cause I might just loose it like our good buddy bedion did....

^^

so it's not possible yet to go to filter section, keep hitting pad and changing filter settings while doing so hearing the outcome... like any mpc?

beatkangz should think about why we use mpcs and should replicate every option in their own format, so we don't lose the workflow we love so much.

given it's v1.0 and it's software, theres hope. but who knows what it's gonnna be like when we get the hands on approach with the hardware. i'm crazy fast with my mp now, but it's gone be an interesting crossover none the less.

good vid btw, so you a beta tester now huh saintjoe?

fellas, I agree we need to be able to quickly edit while the track is playing...I've already let them know and they agreed, said it's in the plans.

I think, if they listen to us like they say, not only will the software become a monster, but the hardware will be dope, and the company as a whole will be successful simply because they take advice and input from real users in the field.

I have high hopes from talking to them, so I remain optimistic.

however, I did find a workaround you may like :D

rendering the new video right now, it will be up shortly and I'll give ya the link.

peace

I can't front, at first I was VERY skeptical of this because of the way dudes originally came in here talking about things like "grills" and stuff buuuuuuuuuuut After seeing some of it in action and whatnot I'd probably invest in one. I'm always on the go and I think it would be a good alternative to have for a portable machine compared to my 404. At the same time I can see a lot of different and good possibilities with this machine if they do it right.

If you guys are reading this thread don't turn into Akai when it comes to customer service and the actual hardware is out! Have a consistent <Positive> interaction with your users when it comes to updating firmware!

well I think it's more along the lines of if something isn't working, we get it fixed, or even additions and improvements to the product.

I've never used customer support for anything myself...but I do like to be able to offer suggestions and requests and know they are at least considered and maybe even show up in the product

This software doesn't work at all for any of my computers. I've contacted Aja about it and he tried to help out, even sent me a download of the program because he thought it was a faulty keydrive. The problem is that my computer doesn't meet the requirements, I need 2gb of RAM and Celeron aint cuttin' it.

I'm not sweating that though because I don't make beats on the computer. But if the Thang aint up to par, then I'm gonna ask for a refund.

of course thats a given, but say your screen is dying out...and you have no technical knowledge and you decide to call up akai pro. I can guarantee you you'll call them and someone will pick up and put you on hold for 2 hours. One cat who gave great customer service was JJ, if there was error or kink screwing up the workflow of the OS he would repair it in a matter of days (or even hours for that matter). Unlike akai who repair/update Operating systems what once every year?

Saintjoe - cheers for the new vids.

It would be good to see some sample editing / sample mangling stuff. Is cross fade looping and sample zero crossings available?

thanks g4, glad you like them. I already did a video on mapping samples across the keys, didn't do anything on looping/crossfading.

I'm actually not sure what you mean about zero crossings

SaintJoe is there a way you know of deleting specific notes off of a single track? Say I recorded the kick and snare to track 1 and I wanted to delete just the snare, is this possible yet?
