When you're in the trim window you gotta set the start and end point. Then hit cut and do it.If it's a single note you may wanna 16 level it so you can play it out like a keyboard and come up with another melody of your own............Peace.

I am not exactly sure what you mean.....

Do you mean that you don't want the sound to overlap itself? So that everytime you press the pad the sound will start over again? If so, then go to the program mode, choose the DRUM you're working on (if you don't know then just choose DRUM1), then press F2 to get to the params. Now move your cursor to the bottom right corner where it should say POLY. Roll the wheel so that it says MONO, now your sound will start from the beginning everytime you hit the pad. If you want it to play only for the duration that you keep the pad pressed, then select NOTE OFF.

If you want to chop a sound into different pieces, then you need to go into the TRIM window. Let's say that your sound is called TRUMPET1. Now highligh the section of the sound that you want, press EDIT, choose NEW SOUND and press do it. Now you will have a sound called TRUMPET2. Then go back to TRUMPET1 and repeat as many times as necessary.

- PRESS SAMPLE - THEN HIT THE PAD WITH THE SAMPLE ON THEM - THAN GO EDIT - AND THEN CHANGE THE POLY MODE WITH THE MONO MODE IT IS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE YOUR SCREEN - AFTER THAT YOU CAN START THE SAMPLE WHEN EVER U WANT, AND EVRYTIME WHEN U PRESS THE PAD WITH THE SAMPLE ON IT WILL STARTS AGAIN...
